To access the collection please click the link http://www.rbdigital.com/wales/zinio and then log in with your library card. Magazines can be downloaded 24/7 to e-readers, smartphones, laptops, tablets and PC /MACs.
Monmouthshire Libraries are now offering access to over 2,500 ebooks – an exciting mix of fiction, biographies, real life stories, children’s books and non-fiction titles – as part of the eBooks for Wales pilot project.
To use the service you have to be a library member and have a PIN. It’s easy to join online and then collect your card and PIN from your local library. Forgotten your PIN? Then just email us to request a reminder.
- You can borrow, or reserve, up to 4 ebooks at any one time
- eBooks are issued for 3 weeks (unless you choose to shorten the loan period). After the loan period expires the book will automatically delete
- eBooks are downloaded to your PC, laptop or MAC using Adobe Digital Editions download manager. You can then transfer the book to your ebook reader, tablet or smartphone. Alternatively ebooks can be downloaded directly to smartphones and tablets once an ebook reader app has been installed
- The download service is not yet available for Kindle ebook readers

This pilot project is match funded by a grant from the Welsh Government. Please let us know what you think.
From August 2011, Monmouthshire Libraries will be offering a free service to customers for downloading eBooks. As a member of the Welsh Public Library Purchasing Consortium, we are working together with colleagues in other libraries to introduce this new service to customers throughout Wales.
The eBooks can be downloaded to most computers, and then transferred to other portable devices such as iPads or iPhones and some eBook readers. They are not, however, Kindle compatible.
As part of this brand new pilot project, funded by WAG/CyMAL, a wide range of titles will be available, in all genres, covering fiction, non-fiction, and junior titles.
Initially, the number of titles out on loan at any one time within Monmouthshire will be very limited. Once downloaded, the title remains active on the customer’s device(s) for a fixed time, after which it automatically deletes itself. The Consortium members are consulting together to establish how the service will operate in detail.
The service is provided by Askews & Holts Library Services Ltd, a well-established UK book supplier with a long record of dealing with libraries.
