Big Book Sale!

Make the most of a unique chance to buy some bargain non-fiction at our Big Book Sale on Friday 13th April and Saturday 14th April.

These books have come from our reserve collection, formerly housed at County Hall in Cwmbran.

The impending closure of this building has made it necessary to rethink arrangements for satisfying customers’ requests for out of print titles via closer working practices with other Welsh authorities.

Some of the reserve collection has gone into alternative storage and the surplus books are going on sale in libraries in the next few weeks.

Don’t miss your chance to grab a bargain!

Chatterbooks @ Caldicot

The present group is full but if you would like to put your child’s name down for the next group please let us know.

National Library Read-In Day

Local author, Meg Kingston, showed her support for Chepstow Library on Saturday 5th February as part of a National Day of protests against library closures across the country.  She encouraged the majority of customers in the library to sign a petition in support of the local library.

Read-in events were organised all over Wales in protest against planned library closures and to demonstrate public support for the services provided by libraries.

Meg encouraged people to visit their local library, register if they hadn’t already done so, take out books and show their support in any way they can.
