Young volunteers wanted!

Monmouthshire Library Service is looking for young volunteers (aged 14 – 15) to help with The Big Friendly Read, Summer Reading Challenge 2016.

The Summer Reading Challenge is produced by The Reading Agency and delivered by libraries throughout the country.  In Monmouthshire it starts on Saturday 16th July 2016.

The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children aged 4 – 11 to continue reading over the summer holidays.

Children that register to take part in the Summer Reading Challenge are presented with a collector’s folder. As they visit the library and read books over the summer holidays they are presented with collector’s cards to go in their folder.

Each child that completes the Challenge by visiting the library three times (after the initial visit to collect the collector’s folder) and reading 6 books will receive lovely prizes including a certificate and medal.

The Big Friendly Read, Summer Reading Challenge 2016 will finish on Saturday 17th September 2016.

The young volunteer role is to:
