Monmouthshire Libraries, working in partnership with Community Connections Befriending Scheme, held two successful Fashion Reminiscence sessions in Monmouth and Chepstow Libraries last week.

The sessions were based around ‘the clothes we have worn throughout our lives are woven into a tapestry of memories’ and were aimed at older people and dementia sufferers. Both sessions were great fun as beneficiaries, volunteers and library staff enjoyed travelling back through time over a cup of tea and enjoying the ‘hands – on’ boxes of various objects including perfume bottles, gloves, items of clothing and fastenings. Volunteers also brought in various items including a vintage 1950s coat, a Laura Ashley dress and various hats dating from 1940s.
