To coincide with Dementia Awareness Week, 18 – 24 May, we are launching a Memory Collection.
The Memory Collection is made up of illustrated books specially designed for people with memory loss, their relatives and carers to share together.
The collection is designed for people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, but can also be enjoyed by everyone.
The books contain vibrant pictures and simple text on a range of familiar topics including pets, holidays, and the garden.
The majority of books in the Memory Collection at present are produced by Pictures to Share, a social enterprise set up to develop books for people with dementia. Visit www.picturestoshare.co.uk to find out more. Pictures to Share have produced a leaflet to explain how to get the most from their books. Please ask for a copy at the library desk if not available on display.
