National Libraries Day – Saturday 9th February 2013

The Friends of Caldicot Library – an enthusiastic voluntary organisation set up last month to support the library through new ideas, feedback, raising its profile and fundraising – is to mark National Libraries Day this Saturday (February 9th) with a stall at the town’s market.

The group will encourage residents to join the library while a member of staff dressed as a book character will invite children to take part in a Caldicot Library Super Hero competition.

There will be lots of information about the library on the stall, and a display featuring photographs of library customers with their comments about why they love their library. A free cup of tea or coffee will await visitors to the library.

Chepstow Library is also celebrating National Libraries Day. Library staff will be outside the library, giving out balloons and talking to non-users about all the free facilities on offer. People walking by will be encouraged to pop into the library to look around for themselves, and free refreshments will be available.
