A little girl who used to come to story time at Monmouth Library appeared suddenly today all the way from New York. She moved there recently and is back visiting for Christmas.
Brett read ‘The Littlest Lighthouse Keeper to the Rescue’ by Heidi Howarth, where a mouse who lives in the lighthouse calls on sea animals to help reunite a baby seal with its mother after being separated during the storm. The subject of storms in America came up afterwards and the little girl’s mother later explained how they had been through Hurricane Sandy and were affected by floods that caused them to lose electricity in their home in America.
They were both glad to be visiting Monmouth Library and had really missed the story times as the sessions in America are more craft based.
