Winnie the Pooh

Monmouth Library has been celebrating the 86th year since Winnie the Pooh was first published on 14th October 1926.

Monmouth Beekeeper Val Vivian-Griffiths of the Dean Forest Beekeepers Association opened with a very informative talk about bees, inspiring an interesting question and answer session from the children at the end of the talk. Library staff then read and performed a Winnie the Pooh story about bees with lots of enthusiastic participation from the children. This was followed by a craft activity to make a Winnie the Pooh/bee mobile. Lots of the children had made an effort to dress up as bees and the Beekeeper made sure that no-one was left out, allowing the children to try on beekeeper outfits, which they very much enjoyed.  All this activity created a real buzz in the library!
